Modern Pinay fashion meets timeless historical works of fashion. This Holiday season, get ready to be fascinated and enthralled as Freeway brings in the latest installment of the much celebrated National Artist Collectors Series. On its forth edition, this series will feature inspirations from the brilliant creations of National Artist for Fashion Ramon Valera.
Ramon Valera is the first fashion designer to be proclaimed as National Artist for Fashion (2006). Valera is known for his elegant gowns and ternos. Valera was celebrated for his ingenuity and craftsmanship, for revolutionizing the national costume, for his mastery of embroidery and beadwork and for and translating Philippine motifs into contemporary terms.
Valera’s signature creative cut, silhouette, colorization, and opulent but tasteful beadwork with embroidery will be reinstated in Freeway’s Valera National Artist Collection which includes woven dresses, tunics, dramatic blouses and sublimation graphic tees. The interpretation of Valera’s legendary creations were executed in a variety of methods, such as updated beadwork, modern silhouettes, print images of his sketches and digital images of his beadworks on the graphic tees. The collection will be available at all Freeway stores nationwide beginning October 15. All items will have their own gift packaging, a swing tag of Valera’s bio and a “Valera” signature on chosen styles.
